Post fight press conference. Very interesting what Loeffler has to say about the Mandatory status of GGG at around the 14:50 mark.

Willie is a good fighter, good in exchanges at hitting and slipping . Philly slick style
Recovered well and won 3rd round , arguably 4th too

But then golovkin felt urgency from corner who was giving him good advice. Don't load up on shots. He started rounds 5th and 6th real strong.

      Big, big drama show

Okay, just rewatched it. I was wrong. He did just barely beat the count. But I stand by that Reis tried to unfairly give him a second chance. His 1-9 count was normal, but Reis took his sweet time to finally say 10. It was as if he waiting for Monroe to finally get it up. And Monroe did try to pull a Rubio. The way he momentarily pauses on his way up screams he wanted to be counted out. So it was kind of bull**** for Reis to ask Monroe if he wanted to quit when the Ref was supposed to stop it himself to save Monroe from the embarrassment from saying no mas.

Surely Reis has become aware of fighters doing this... Maybe he's tired of referees being blamed for early stoppages and holds some twisted grudge. Either way, it's getting pretty old seeing fighters trying to use this trick as a way out.

It was nice of GGG to publicly acknowledge that he hasn't fought anyone truly special yet. He is in a tough predicament. He would whitewash the small and hittable Cotto but Canelo would be an excellent fight. Ward would merk GGG and expose him and there is no real money there

Cotto is probably the only aforementioned fight he gets. Golovkin is smart to be adopting the Mexican fans. Will add some interest when fighting an iconic Puerto Rican.

GGG is too old and the wrong weight to get many big time fights. If he is truly rebranding himself as a mexican-style warrior it should be fun though.

Easy work, as expected. People really want to see Golovkin blast Lara out? Well, make it happen I guess.

Man, that first KD was beautiful. He waited for the one shot he wanted and landed it.
