Salka is probably the worst cherry pick I have seen in my entire lifetime. This Willie Munroe guy I've never heard of but at least he's an actual middleweight and is ranked by a few governing bodies in the top 10. It's still a **** fight but it's not SALKA level.
I agree that the Salka fight was a joke...But Danny has shown it time and time again that he has no problems fighting the big names...I think Haymon just manages him carefully, but Danny himself has no problems getting in there with anyone....Khan, Matthyse, Peterson etc etc...If you are willing to (eventually) give the fans the fights they want I don't mind a tune up fight here and there....In the past fighters took dozens of tune up fights even in the prime of there careers...

Blake Caparello and Agnew were pretty damn close to the level of Salka....And Kovalev took them on back to back where as Danny took on Salka, but then agreed to fight Peterson right after that...

N'Dam, Lemeiux, Saunders. GGG makes weight easily could have moved up for a fight, he should have no problems moving between weights as many other fighters have done and are currently doing. All the people giving GGG a pass I will expect them to do the same when Cotto's opponent is announced, we'll see.

But where were you complaining when Kovalev took on the mighty Blake Caparello and Cedric Agnew back to back....What about Lomachenkos recent outing with a Pad Thai vendor.....Danny did take a free payday with Salka, but who cares....Right after Salka he immediately took on Peterson which was a fight that alot of fans wanted to see...Danny has no problem taking on difficult tough fights that the fans want...anyone who thinks differently is just being unfair/biased....and probably hates him because of his dad or some other dumb reason...

Why does GGG need a pass? He is fighting a legit middleweight who is a ranked contender by all three sanctioning bodies. If Cotto signs to fight against a ranked, legit middleweight without a catch weight, I won't say a word. If he fights a Jr. MW or a WW, damn right I'll dump all over him.

There is no logical reason for GGG to move between weight classes for anything other than a PPV fight. It would put his health and future conditioning at risk and would be a foolish thing to do just to make a handful of loud mouthed people who are not even fans happy.

Yeah, sure. Garcia is taking on Peterson at a catch weight in a 10 round non title fight. Just what EVERYONE wants to see. Sure it is. I'd rather watch the snow melt after a long winter than watch that poor excuse of a fight.

Man the bias of some fans sickens me to my damn stomach. They will rationalize ANYTHING when it comes to their favorite fighters. I hold no biases for my fighters, THIS. FIGHT. SUCKS. But these "champions" are ducking GGG so what can you do.

but cotto's the one ducking why would he get a pass? cotto fights once or maybe twice a year so his opponent should be good right? ggg fights 4 times in an attempt to land the big fights. you do realize ggg has to fight someone right? he's not going to just sit there and let people duck him forever. kovalev fought sillakh, agnew, and caparello and eventually got a big fight because he became worth the risk. ggg's doing the same thing but it just hasn't paid off yet. i've yet to see a guy who sits on the shelf land a big fight.

yes that's exactly right. it sucks but it's not ggg's fault. he's going to keep fighting until these chumps step up and fight him. what else can he do? move up and fight bums at another division and that proves what? usually he would have gotten them in the ring by now but they are extra frightened. stevenson frightened.
