What were you expecting? Golovkin is waiting to see how the WBC situation shakes out. He'll either fight Cotto or someone else for the belt this year. He was never going to move up or get a good fight at 160 after Murray.

I don't see the Cotto fight happening. I think he's pretty much cleaned out everybody at 160 that is willing to fight him.

Sane people: The other middleweight champion (Cotto) openly admits he won't even consider fighting GGG so yes it is Cotto's fault for holding the division back as a weak lame paper titlist.

This ends up happening in every Golovkin thread, but why don't we go down the list of fighters from 154 to 168 that Golovkin should fight in May instead of Monroe? See the availability?

I agree, but he wants the belt and he'll end up fighting someone for it. He's not going to give up his slim chance at a big fight and another belt to force fights now. He's the mandatory. He's fighting someone for the belt this year.

If this was Quillin/Monroe you'd call it a good fight. It's wouldn't be for him and it's not for Golovkin.

This is good for GGG and Canelo. Two good tests ahead of them, and if they're both victorious, we should have a GGG vs. Canelo PPV this fall, that is if Oscar is smart. Since Canelo is against catchweights, I'm sure he'll fight GGG at the full 160, for the Middleweight title.
