He just stopped a top 5 guy and is fighting again in two months. It's not much of a fight, but it's not like there are lots of viable alternatives.

Shame on anyone trying to compare this to Garcia-Salka, where a champion fought a guy ranked 70th in the division below, despite only fought twice last year and having lots of obvious alternatives.

And poor Salka is going down to 130 now.

          No he's not

So the best you guys have to justify this cherry pick is that he's a career middleweight and a southpaw? That's when you KNOW you have a cherry pick.
Have you even looked at the rankings? Monroe is top ten in the WBC, WBA and WBO.

there are a few available names at jr middle who would be better tests, i think

i guess. but i feel like it's more interesting to see him face fighters on the up rather than fighters who always have been and always will be mediocre

Garcia could fought ANYONE on the planet

GGG can't. We all know that. His critics jump on high for not fighting a guy a division above him. That's how ridiculous this is.

              Don't be ****** on purpose.

Man, WIllie is upstate NY so I gotta pull for him but I already know what the result is going to be...

Golovkin is a victim of his own success and work rate, he's too good and too powerful and by the time he turns around and is looking for his next fight everyone else is weeks deep into their own training camps so C listers are the best he can get short notice. Its balls but I understand it, hopefully a big fight comes soon.
