Yea SRL my favorite fighter also but just isn't no hearns or hagler in this era like it was then for floyd other then manny fight happening now both fighters was reason didn't happen earlier but you still get sense the fans for both fighters would rather bring up old quotes from 3-5 years ago from both camps then what's actually being said now I'm pray for double knockout then they both retire lol

I understand your point. Yes, I think he was trying to minimize them to a degree as people were elevating pac to his level when he felt he didn't belong. That said, he was being honest regarding the cotto fight-is was at 145 while to that point Floyd had won all his titles without a CW.

Look, I get that you don't like what he said or how it was said. Yes, Floyd went in on the trash talk. But Floyd wasn't as bad as say ali to frazier or what dude said to emile Griffith.

sticking to the thread-what Floyd says and what Floyd does are 85% hypocritical and contradictory. They way he has trash talked Manny and the way he will prepare for the fight is no different.

It's not what the opponents weighed the fight before, it's what is the limit for the division. Manny won his title at 145 while Floyd had won all his titles at the full weight up to that point.

Not quite the same level, but fighting Mosely in '99-'04 would've been a great fight, bf Mosely was almost 40.
that said, this fight is happening and the result will go a long way towards one fighter being mentioned along with SRL, Duran, Ali and other greats of the past 50 yrs, with the lose being on the list with BHop, Sweat Pea, and that very next level of greats who are top 30-40 all-time, but not top 10

Right, obviously. But all the catchweight discussion from TMT was nonstop-catchwt king and all that, was used to discredit. It wasnt just mentioned as a fact - saying cotto was undefeated bc he had lost at a catchwt is quite laughable ud agree, no?

Is that what he said? I believe the full quote was he considered Cotto undefeated because the Manny fight was at a a CW and because he thought Marg cheated.

I'm pretty sure he said that on the face off (I think) as a way to make the fight more interesting to casual fans.
