Whether he did or Floyd did its not relevant, he agreed to fight at the weight and could have refused the big payday if he wanted or didn't feel he would be healthy to fight. The point I am trying to make is people like to revise the Pac/DLH situation when in reality it was a cherrypick gone wrong and DLH got what he deserved.

Exactly the way I look at it, DLH was drained but he cherry picked Pac and it backfired horrendously, the weight ended up effecting him more, his own fault though.

As for what Floyd said, it's only stuff we've already heard from him before, people shouldn't get pissed about it. Floyd likes to talk a bit of **** about his opponent before the fight, nothing more, nothing less - he'll definitely be taking Pacquiao seriously.

Some of the people saying that Manny-Oscar was fair because Oscar was the A-Side and he made his own decisions, are the same people who scream "Ward drained Dawson." Can't have it both ways :/

I also would have been OK with Manny fighting Cotto at a catchweight if they both weren't campaigning at 147. Doesn't it sound odd when you say it out loud? Welterweight Pacquiao demands that welterweight Cotto fight at a catchweight of 145 lbs... at welterweight o_O

Floyd demanding a catchweight to fight the lineal JMW champion is hardly the same IMO. Not saying that Floyd hasn't been hypocritical with his statements, but moving up a weight division to fight the #1 ranked guy there doesn't make a 2 lbs. catchweight acceptable?

It's a little tricky. Pacquiao weighed in for Oscar at 144, and was 148 in the ring.
His next fight was at 140 and he weighed in at 138. Then, he fought Cotto.

Pac's fights with De La Hoya and Hatton have a guy barely making 147. In the Hatton fight he weighed in 9lbs less than the 147 limit. Based on that, there's really nothing odd about fighting Cotto at 145.

Pacquiao fought ODH, moved down for one money fight with Hatton, and has been a welter ever since. Is it not fair to say that Cotto started Manny's campaign at 147? He fought ODH, Clottey, Mosley, etc at the division limit, so he could have fought Cotto there too. He had already gotten his feet wet at welterweight, so needing another catchweight is bull.

Pac had no intention of moving to welter, he got an offer he couldnt refuse from a guy unranked at welter, who was dropping down in weight. 9 months prior Pac was at 130, with a single fight at 135 since. Pac won no title vs Dlh, Cotto was his first legit welter opponent

Otoh Floyd was a 2x champ at Sww prior to Canelo. Reigning champ as well, forget diamond belt, he won the wba belt from Cotto (per Floyd, undefeated since Pac was a cw lol), hence the Canelo unification. The fcuker has held a sww belt continuously since Cotto in 2012, with 0 defenses at regulation weight

You're trying to change the subject. Floyd would have fought Manny back then if he had agreed to drug testing. It did look weird that Manny's punch resistance had increased significantly when he moved up to welterweight. He got wobbled by Marquez at 130 but walked right through Cotto's shots at 145. I think Manny MIGHT have still won those fights but lets not act like the weight stipulations didn't help him.

Now Manny is fighting a full fledged welter weight and there is more stringent testing. Manny's going to find out how good he truly is on May 2nd. That's all Floyd was trying to say.

No I'm not trying to change no subject. Today Floyd is saying that Manny beat them because they were weight drained but if you actually go back to Floyd Sr and Floyd Jr previous interviews on the subject they were very worried about 2009 version of Manny.

Floyd Sr went from Floyd is going to win easily before the Cotto fight to "I don't want my son Floyd fighting Manny" after the Cotto fight. In fact, if you look at those 2 interviews (before and after), Floyd Sr says that maybe there are some people who excuse a bit the Oscar fight but not now after the Cotto win.
