I think Manny doesn't know how much those catchweights actually helped him in that fight. He THINKS he beat De La Hoya and Cotto and 100% peak performance when that is sadly not true. He's in for a rude awakening May 2nd, similar to the first Morales fight.
That is the funniest thing I heard. You know that it was after the performances from that year (Oscar, Hatton and Cotto) that Floyd Jr and Sr got scared and asked for the PEDs testing.

Like I have been telling Floyd fans for years. You need to get your stories straight. Was it that Manny was loaded with PEDs or were his opponents drained?

Just asking for a little consistency, and a little less unnecessary hate

I also would have been OK with Manny fighting Cotto at a catchweight if they both weren't campaigning at 147. Doesn't it sound odd when you say it out loud? Welterweight Pacquiao demands that welterweight Cotto fight at a catchweight of 145 lbs... at welterweight o_O

Floyd demanding a catchweight to fight the lineal JMW champion is hardly the same IMO. Not saying that Floyd hasn't been hypocritical with his statements, but moving up a weight division to fight the #1 ranked guy there doesn't make a 2 lbs. catchweight acceptable?
Pac was not campaigning at welter, idiot. Jeeze

Floyd was a reigning Sww champ when he demanded the Canelo cw. Damn, youre wrong on everything

      • Now it's "I study"......Whatever happened to "I never watch tape of no fighters, I just adapt in the ring"......Which one is it?

        • The biggest difference will be floyd's ability to adapt, and solve puzzles in the ring. Pacquiao will follow a game plan given to him. Floyd will ensure whatever he's doing, he's winning rounds. If it's not working, he'll change it. By round 4 Floyd will know exactly when to let that lead right hand fly, and Pacquaio will not be able to adapt to stop it landing flush.

Pacquiao fought ODH, moved down for one money fight with Hatton, and has been a welter ever since. Is it not fair to say that Cotto started Manny's campaign at 147? He fought ODH, Clottey, Mosley, etc at the division limit, so he could have fought Cotto there too. He had already gotten his feet wet at welterweight, so needing another catchweight is bull.

Did you seriously just use the diamond championship to say Floyd was a reigning champ, and then call me an idiot within the same post? Herp derp

When did you start sucking so much as a poster? When we talked Ward-GGG, you actually came off as intelligent. Guess I was wrong :/

You're trying to change the subject. Floyd would have fought Manny back then if he had agreed to drug testing. It did look weird that Manny's punch resistance had increased significantly when he moved up to welterweight. He got wobbled by Marquez at 130 but walked right through Cotto's shots at 145. I think Manny MIGHT have still won those fights but lets not act like the weight stipulations didn't help him.

Now Manny is fighting a full fledged welter weight and there is more stringent testing. Manny's going to find out how good he truly is on May 2nd. That's all Floyd was trying to say.

Whether he did or Floyd did its not relevant, he agreed to fight at the weight and could have refused the big payday if he wanted or didn't feel he would be healthy to fight. The point I am trying to make is people like to revise the Pac/DLH situation when in reality it was a cherrypick gone wrong and DLH got what he deserved.

                  • Actually the opposite is true...

Pacquaio is less worried because Floyd isn't big as margarito and doesn't punch as hard as cotto
