  • How will the casuals react to Garcia-peterson & Quillin-lee?

If I noticed one thing during last nights show, was that the casual fans arnt interested in the sweet science, they're interested in wars, and exciting hard fought battles. I lost count of how many times broner-molina got booed, and Thurman-guerrero only got interesting, when the ghost went down. Even then,in the last two rounds, the crowd would boo every time that Thurman would move away, and refuse to engage Guerrero. So how will the casuals react to both Peterson, and quillen deciding to box their respective opponents, instead of engaging them?

I explained Quillin to the people I watched with. They could not understand it and are all rooting for Andy Lee.

And PEDerson doesn't box. Well, he does for the first 2 or 3 rounds, then he goes to war. He'll do the same against Garcia.

You will probably have the same result. Lee will bring it no doubt, but may not be able to land. I sure hope he does though. He's way more exciting. Garcia and Peterson will most likely get more boos than Larry Merchant on a PPV.

That ring was enormous and what's with the 4 black ropes?

It had nothing to do with the sweet science. Molina didn't come to fight.

Vegas crowds suck, and yeah there were times where Thurman was pretty blatantly running away from Guerrero. It led me to wonder a few times why this KO artist who is so secure in his power didn't ever feel comfortable standing his ground with a guy he'd just hurt.

I doubt Lee-Quillin will be very action packed, but there's a chance that Lee scores a knockout and even casuals will know in their bones that something wonderful has happened.

Garcia-Peterson could be a good scrap, depending on how well Peterson stands up to Danny's power.

Quillin-Lee is a good fight and I think it will prove to be entertaining. Garcia-Peterson would seem to be a good fight on paper as both fighters are good at mid-range. They have appealing styles on their own, and a guy like Peterson who likes pursuing you is a perfect foil to Garcia who would rather strafe and time you coming in.

I expect the April 11th fights to be much better. For some reason I expected Broner/Molina to be exciting in spots, but it absolutely wasn't. I knew Thurman would win and dance around the ring too much. But April 11th...even though I favor Quillin and Garcia, those will be much better match-ups, and more entertaining too.
