PBC ON NBC: Reason why there was no entourage and why network broadcasts aren't good

I'm pretty sure one of the reasons for lack of entourage is because it was live network TV.. That stuff has to be pg-13.. You can't have a bunch of unknown characters parading into the ring. God knows what the mics would pick up...
Can you imagine Norman stone on one of these cards.. The networks and censors would go crazy...
Remember a few years ago the little fight mayhem miller got into during the post fight interviews when CBS was airing prime time mma... The networks flipped out and was suspending and banning fighters... And that was a very tame incident compared to boxing's hijinks

This is why I kinda don't like boxing being on network TV,, boxing is an adult sport and should be rated -R, and that's why it's so much better on hbo and showtime.. It's not the watered down pg-13 version, and we miss nearly all the between rounds corner talk which is usually always entertaining

I don't like missing the in between rounnds but that was pretty cool that they showed the last few rounds no commercials at least

Exactly.... It is good for the sport, there is more good that outweighs the bad, but give me the theatrics and pageantry that showtimr and hbo provide.. I love that stuff

Yeah, when they cut broner off, that was really lame...

Boxing is built on characters and personalities... It's the number one factor if people will watch... Does a potential audience know your name or can you be memorable enough... People watch fighters they know, watch teams they know, etc..
Especially casual fans... I for instance am a longtime mma fan but consider myself casual, but I will tune in or even watch 2nd rate late night cable mma if there is a name fighter I recognize from pride or ufc, like Melvin manhoef..

You can't hold back guys like broner.. The sport needs him to be loud and bold

Yes to me it was too glossy and clinical it lacked the atmosphere that comes with say a PPV fight , it needs some of the raw boxing feel we have grown up with watching the sport .

I liken it to when I was young at the tent fights and all you had was a guy beating a drum to a rhythm and it resonated into you as you entered the tent , that raw feel is not in this .

But I enjoyed it greatly so good on them it was a good night of boxing and can only get better from here on in with some great fights coming up .

For me, simply upgrading Marv and SRL would go a long way towards improving the product.

I don't like entourages, bunch of lame hangers on trying to act tough as if they're fighting themselves. Fcuk that, didn't miss it at all.
