No announcement yet.
How would you grade the first PBC event on NBC?

Bottom line, all that extra stuff, doesn't do a thing for the fight. If that is what is needed to attract fans, why are those types of fans needed in the first place?

Props to Robert though, warrior all the way, just not a great fighter. But that's why he was picked in the first place.

HBO is like prime rib medium rare
SHO is like a nice rotisserie chicken
PBC on NBC is like when burger king gives you a onion ring in your order of fries

I thought Al Michaels did a great job.
Marv Albert is past his prime and was worthless for a lot of the telecast.
Leonard sounded like someone explaining things to someone who didn't understand anything about boxing, it was a little annoying but this will probably be the biggest boxing viewership in 10 years so it's expected.
The ring walks were strange but I understand that they are trying to make these guys stars so they only want to focus on the fighters. Kind of felt like I was watching the running man but it didn't really bother me. I actually prefer that to a posse of 10 rappers lip syncing some garbage music.
The Molina vs. Broner fight was horrid, both Broner and Molina shit the bed.
The Thurman vs. Guerrero fight was very good, the last 4 rounds were excellent. There was a lot of drama and there was some legit moments where it looked like Guerrero was about to be Ko'd and he battled back to show the heart of a champion.
Overall it was a positive experience and it was trending like crazy on twitter, it's going to be interesting to see what type of ratings this does but I'm looking forward to the CBS fights if they have the usual SHO crew.

Robert Guerrero was the only thing that made this show anything more than a complete disaster. I don't like being negative, but I just don't dig this new set-up/presentation. Everything feels a little too scripted and dumbed down for mass consumption. Sorry guys, I don't think I'm a "hater", but I just don't believe in Al Haymon. I can't believe in any guy that is going to refuse to work with other promoters and who is trying to monopolize the sport. You think someone like that gives a damn about the fans? Do you think the guy who made one abysmal card after another in 2014 cares about the fans? He's just a greedy businessman. Maybe boxing's always been corrupt, but damn it just seems especially rotten to me right now. And even if he gives us a good match-up here and there, I still don't like what he stands for.

the overall production was good could be better but its nbc so its not gonna be as raw and uncut as hbo and sho but still good enough. the ring walks were wack and like wwf lol they need to keep it original and let them come out with they crew and trainers

I give it a C, it would have been an A if not for Broner/Molina stinking it up.
If 'wraps had his way, this would have been my opening night:
Maidana/Pac- main event
undercards:
Rigo/Nonito II
Cotto/Canelo
Froch/Chavez Jr
50 million viewers USA aloneLast edited by LoadedWraps; 03-08-2015, 02:24 AM.

I see a lot of people giving the Ghost all the credit for the main event being entertaining. Why? I'm a fan of both but all the ghost showed was a good chin, Thurman was the one laying leather all night. The Ghost's best punch during the fight was a head but.......
