Here we go, the "he so brave doe" parade is passing by again. I hope we get a lot less of these type of fights, not more. Guerrero showed he had heart in the last few rounds, but people were getting riled up over his bravery instead of any meaningful comeback. It was a watchable fight for an 8 to 1 mismatch, but it was still a mismatch from round 1 to 12. I don't like these type of fights.

They weren't THAT close though. Thurman was pretty in control a majority of every round from the 4th onwards. The first 4 rounds I think only 2 could swing Guerrero's way.Comment

Thurman looked good in spots, Im not downplaying his power, dude fought at higher weights in the ams, but Guerrero should have pressed more, way more. In the later rnds Guerrero looked alright, Thurman def didnt look comfortable with the in fighting at all.
Thurman will remain an exciting fighter, but I think as he steps up comp hes gna get exposed a bit. Def disappointed Guerrero didnt fight him like he did Kamegai or Berto, but for all the talk, Thurman did use mad movement from rnd 4 onComment

If Thurman wanted to move more he could've got hit less. He said from the start, he was going to stand and trade a bit in the first 6 rounds. If he would've fought like Floyd did when he fought Guerrero everyone would be complaining about how boring it was.Comment

I am not really a fan of Brook, but he showed with Porter that he is great at diffusing aggression, has great timing and he is quick, smart, and has an educated jab.
Thurman is raw explosiveness and route memorized patterns. Thats why he gets hit so much, because he just runs off the combos and movement he learns in the gym, so against someone who is smart and learns his patterns, he will get timed all night long.
I think Brook can do that, and its not like Brook can't punch at all.
I put Thurman on the same level as Danny Garcia and Broner. Fundamentally flawed, but able to get by with youth and athleticism so far.
Broner Thurman would be fun, although could turn into a very negative fight. Garcia Thurman could be fun. Thurman Maidana, would be a rough night for Thurman with Maidana's awkward style being awful for pattern fighters.
I don't think Khan should even be in the discussion of top welterweights at this point if for nothing else because of his chin. Everyone at the top right now has power. He doesn't even really have that anymore. He has his height, and speed, which will get him by the Collazo's and Alexanders of the world, but I am not sure he would even bet by Porter.
Speaking of Porter, Porter vs Thurman would be fun.Comment

Yep, bradley is the only proven guy that could take on Thurman. garcia and brook are sleppers but would be big underdogsComment

I think Brook would be Keith's toughest fight. Brook is good, but he needs a higher punch output. Very good boxer, natural welterweight. I still lean towards Keith, but I'd like to see it happen.Comment

Thurman beat living **** out of the man despite an emergency room hematoma growning on the side of his head. Thurman used excellent ring intelligence and stayed on the outside where he both had the handspeed and reach (4 inches) to his advantage. When he went inside robert headbutted him...Thurman couldnt afford to take any more damage and risk a stoppage. No fighter should risk an easy points victory with a dangerous injury like that. Either you dont under stand even the most basic ideas of strategy, or you are a world class hater....who knows they are world class. At some point you have to admit this kid has the goods. Or you have to keep being a troll...but i guess at least you know you are now. So you have that going for you.Comment
