This right here. But now thinking about it, it will make it feel more tense with just the two fighters inside that ring... I think it feels more intense. IDK. We will see tonight.

Not sure about no announcer in the ring though, it adds to the threatics, gets people all hyped and riled up. Guess Imma have to rely on the alcohol to do that for me tonight

Not a fan of no announcer but perhaps there is an issue with getting either Lennon or Buffer. I think Lennon is exclusive in the USA to Showtime and Buffer works closely with HBO.

I'd prefer an announcer but the no entourage is good

Probably wanted to go the route of other maninstream sports with just a PA guy.

However, I worry that would take away from the historic feeling of boxing. IDK, maybe it will be great.

I wonder if it's for just the cards that have different time contraints than cable.

As far as entourages in general...I'm not averse to them, but I think Haymon understands that Joe Public doesn't really relate to seeing every fighter have an entourage - it can make him/her feel disconnected from what they're watching.

Yeah, if you make it to a certain level, by all means, roll in with your entourage - it just can't be every 12-0 fighter for every fight. Ideally, you'd like to build an entourage (of fans) that you pickup from the fighters you beat - then people out there in TV land can feel like they are apart of that crew too and they don't mind you rolling in with 100 cats.... you don't show up day one with crew in tow, I think it can be off-putting

lets see how tonight goes, I wish they just kept everything the same. It if aint broke dont fix it.

Imagin on PPV (or any big fights) they get rid of the national anthems, that will make the fight not seem that important anymore, at least in my view.

but like I/we said lets just see how tonight goes.

One interesting thing about the PBC fights: No ring announcer in ring. Just a voice over the PA. There will be no entourages in ring either.

                      Damn, thats gonna be weird.
Fine with me. Probably they saw a ring announcer as a waste of money, which it is. Buffer probably charges an arm and a leg to saw a few lines. Worthless.
