Fight GGG or vacate. Thats it.
Pretty much how I feel. No problem with him dropping the belt and going to 154, but holding onto the belt with no intention of defending it against the best at middleweight is wrong

That is what I will do. If that is fighting Gennady Golovkin, I will do it. If not, he can take the middleweight title. He can take it.”

I called it a while ago. Now go ahead... show your rage and hatred... then do the same for every fighter who won a belt a weight class above and then vacated it.
I'm not a fan of Cotto but this is the most logical move he can make and as a fan i'd have zero problem if he vacates.

I have no problem with him vacating either - he's way too small for GGG. But at least come clean about the fact that you're ducking.

Lol exactly that fact GGG fans want a past prime light middleweight to be his signature fight shows how delusional they are!

cotto is just a coward, why did he even bother fighting for the MW title if he wouldnt even defend it once. Fine if you want to vacate your title okay, but at least defend it once, or he should not be considered a 4 weight champion

If he holds the lineal belt of the weight class he's fair game. Simple as that.

                  ditto.

bottom line, it's a business; cotto will, and should, do what is best for him.

All he said was that no one tells him what to do, and that he will do what's best for him (money). He also said if fighting GGG is beneficial to his career (makes money) he will fight him, but if it does nothing for his career he will give GGG the belt. He is at the tail end of his fighting career he wants to maximize his earnings he will fight Canelo eventually, Oscar is still asking for that fight. I trust that if he doesn't get the Mayweather rematch he will fight Canelo or GGG but he is doing his voluntary defense against a soft touch in the meantime.
