I agree that Floyd would beat many of the greats at his prime weight classes but that is because Floyd is a once in a generation talent, not because this era is somehow greater than any other.

As far as Vlad. It's ****** to argue over heavyweights because their size keeps increasing over time. If you would throw in a Rocky Marciano into today's Cruiser Weight division he'd probably dominate it. If you took Joe Louis and had him fighting heavyweights only around his size 10-12 pounds then he'd be top tier. Arguing across generations for heavy's doesn't work.

It goes both ways. You have to respect their resumes and accomplishments and their appreciation of the technical skill aspect of the game. Plus you had 15 round fights, more fights, more hall of famers, 1 belt, less weight classes, etc.

But at the same time, you have to understand that athletes evolve over time.

Weigh both factors when you compare fighters from then and now.

Im not an internet thug dude. U only saying this stuff because you know Im right. Your so passionate about keeping up this lie that SRL was better than Floyd and Pac Im not even a fan boy. But I HATE how you all lie about him and other past atg's. Im not going to lie about him just because its the popular thing to do. He looked at Pryor like a beast. Pryor is a homelessman version of Pac lol. I have no doubt in my mind that they would be moving up in weight to avoid both Floyd and Pac.

No he didnt liar. He structured his career to get two money fights with Oscar and Gatti. His haters accused him of ducking ten to twenty fighters who were in between. They werent even good enough to test him. He has so many haters that credible boxing people find themselves repeating things that they say. Why repeat lies that you know are empty? lol

But when he retired people accused him of retiring to duck because they got it from SRL

i'm a boxing fan but i find ali extremely overpraised and a chore to watch, he does more running and hugging than floyd and wlad combined. his big fights have become so historic though that most people forgot how boring he really was.

                    Easy to explain....

Things people see during there lifetime is automatically more special then something they hadn't seen. A 5 year old watching Lebron school the 76ers live would seem like the coolest thing in the world if he wasn't around to see Jordan cross out Bryan Russell and hit the game winner against the Jazz in 98-99.

Just like the new casuals that only became fans when Oscar fought Floyd think Floyd and Manny are the greatest thing ever because they didn't see the past greats and ASSUME because it's happening in there current era it's better then anything of the past.

Again it's hard to compare because a guy like Rickey Hatton cut a ton of weight to make 140 but back in the day guys fought a few times a month not just in the year so they were more natural fighters of that weight class because they would only have a week or 2 to make weight and most likely had a fight only a week or 2 before.

Because unlike every other sport on earth, boxing is going backwards. The farther back you go, the bigger the talent pool. the better the fighters, the better the conditioning, and the more competitive the competition was. Belts were real. men fought for 15 rounds. Trainers weren't a joke. Most of todays champs would be tomato cans back in the day. You don't have to like it or accept it, but that doesn't change the facts.
