I think Floyd embarrasses Manny, might not be as bad as what Rigo did to Donaire but I don't think the fight will be that competitive.

I'm not saying Rigo is a better technician / defensive fighter than Floyd but getting dropped has little to do with defense, this is more about your chin. You know why? Because everybody gets hit in Boxing, no matter how defensively good they are. Floyd got hit more in the first Maidana fight than Rigo in any of his fghts, but he didn't go down.

So the ability to get hit without getting knocked down is what makes a fighter a great technician, a defensive genius? Rios, Provodnikov, etc. are great technicians according to your logic. As I said, punch resistance.

You make some valid points. However, part of what keeps a fighter up right is their ability to avoid getting hit cleanly on the chin. Floyd gets hit more now because he's 38 years old. Despite that, Floyd often rolls away from punches, which allows him to not get the full impact of the punch.

Additionally, you didn't mention anything about balance. Fighters often get knocked down due to bad balance. It's not so much the impact of the punch that always knocks a fighter down, it's poor balance. Floyd has excellent ballance and that's part of why he hasn't been dropped in the ring.

Your last comment is really dumb. Even though Rigo completely undressed and humiliated Donaire, Rigo was still put on his ass. Rigo has been knocked down multiple times. When have you ever seen Floyd put on his ass in the ring? Tell me how Rigo is a better technician than Floyd.

You could argue Rigo is the better technician. Floyd has always been as long or longer than his opponent. You can count the number of fighters Floyd has fought who were taller and had a longer reach than him on one hand. Rigo is often the shorter fighter with shorter arms.

What makes Floyd great is he has these great attributes and combines them with great technique and smarts.

these people reading too much into maidana fights smh... they setting manny up for a massacre .. chino has more power than manny, he physically stronger, he has a better jab (mannys jab doesn't exist) and chino can cut the ring better..

manny cannot bully floyd on the ropes , stop it.. floyds gonna keep him in the middle of the ring and dictate the pace.

you see how the only fight they mention to prove how floyd is slipping is maidana ..but chino is a bull, manny isnt.. styles make fights
