Frampton is huge in Northern Ireland but not that well known across the other parts of the UK plus he's a super bantamweight. It's not exactly a glamour division for the casuals.

2 million is pretty respectable for his first fight on terrestrial tv I think.

Also 6 million can't be the UK audience!?
According to Gareth A Davies that was the correct figure for the Froch fight. I do find that hard to believe myself though as Froch was pretty much unknown by the general public at that point.

2 million for a lower weight class fighter who isn't English, an olympian or had much publicity leading up to the fight was pretty decent.

ITV was also impressed with the production and are looking to air more of Cyclone promotions fights.

No it was ITV, the last time they aired a fight i think someone said.

It was probably on when the football season was over so maybe that's how they got those numbers.

Setanta Sports I thought, maybe ITV though.

It did not draw 6 million viewers if it was Setanta.

*edit* It was ITV, the Setanta disagreement was related to Froch-Taylor.

Decent numbers considering it didn't start until after 11 and MOTD was on at the same time.

Framton looked good and seems taylor made for itv with the well known Mcguigan behind him.If he could get a couple of more dates in Belfast I'm pretty sure with the sporting attitude of the Irish singing sweet Caroline the figures would double in no time and to make it the fight it deserves to be, Quigg should try and raise his profile a little as I'm not sure Scott has a massive support base ?

Haven't seen any numbers being reported but I'd think it would be less. ITV tends to have much more viewers than Channel 5.

The highest ratings on Channel 5 were for Fury vs. Chisora 1 which did just over 2 million but that was two British fighters and they are heavyweights of course.

Just dug a little deeper and it did 0.74 million which is pretty disappointing.
