When i hear someone say Floyds the best Defensive fighter ever, i throw up in my mouth a little. It astonishes me that people think Floyd is so great beating up on limited skilled opponents. Floyd is a skillful MARKETED boxer. Nothing Fancy Nothing special. Just better than his average fighter opponents. They are plenty of fighters out there now nad then that could take Floyd out.Comment

but thing is people basing their floyd is slipping logic on the two maidana fights, when in the canelo fight he looked like a million bucks.
chinos style played a part in floyd looking how he did. he had the muscle and power to bully floyd on the ropes. even though he was missing, his size made it hard for floyd to get breathing room.
just give chino props instead of saying floyd slipped. with pacquiao he doesn't have to worry about being bullied, manny doesn't have as much power as chino. and one thing chino has manny doesn't is a jab (also way better at cutting off the ring).

Pacquiao does make a lot of mistake but he's been getting away with it for years. Part of the reason is he makes up for it in work rate and relentless aggression. The problem is he's never faced a fighter like Mayweather who will likely make him pay for every mistake.Comment

Every boxing aficionados knows Manny make so many mistakes, and like someone already stated the reason there's not too many opponents capitalized on those mistakes is because of his work ratio. I'm a fan of Manny and I see those mistakes as well, but to say that Floyd will destroys him is either delusional or just plain fanboys. It'll be a close match up and I still think that Manny style is all wrong against Floyds defense. I can't wait what these two combatants have in store for us.Comment

It goes both ways. Mayweather has never faced a Pacquiao likewise. The issue here is what is defined as a "mistake"? It is highly subjective. If "taking chances" is a mistake then that is arguable.
I love Mayweather's style as a big fan of Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard while über-appreciative of Willi Pep's and Sweet Pea Whitaker's mastery of the defense.
But Pacquiao's style isn't so much of a "mistake" but of bravado. For having 64 fights climbing the weight ladder while winning and punishing opponents along the way and winning 57 fights in a dizzying fashion of debauchery (and his opponents are of high-quality) then to have a relative terminology of making "mistakes" isn't so bad after all.
Had Pacquiao stuck with a chess-ic and strategy approach of a boxer, he wouldn't be as dynamic and most probably wouldn't rise to where he is now regarded with his Henry Armstrong-esque fashion of blitzing through boxing.
This upcoming fight with Mayweather would be a classic match-up between a flawless-albeit-aging Mayweather vs a bombastic-relentless-albeit-aging Pacquiao.
In that light, it's a toss-up.
• Can Mayweather withstand the Pacquiao onslaught in the wake of Maidana (2x) showing Mayweather now as "hittable"?
• Can Pacquiao "Box" or "slug it out" with a slick boxer after his triumphant comeback after the Marquez KO?
We shall see...those two questions will be telling. When the hitting starts to tell the story as it unfold, the question now shifts from "would Pacquiao's mistakes be a liability?"Comment
