WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez is not looking to take any chances with the scorecards when Gary Russell Jr. on the 28th of March at the Palms in Las Vegas. He is going to attempt to knocking the former Olympian out. This past Saturday, Gonzalez stepped on the scale for the WBC's mandated 30-day weighin and came in at 133-pounds. His training camp continues with Hall of Fame coach Nacho Beristain. Showtime will televise their contest.

That is Johnny Gonzalez, it will be an interesting clash because Gonzalez needs to keep him on the outside for that so it will be interesting to see if Russel obliges or takes a more correct tactical approach by trying to at least get in that middle range inside Gonzalez' range but in his own.

Got to favor Gonzalez though as I just don't know what Russel brings at this level and Gonzalez is good enough I wouldn't go mystery box against him.

Very interesting fight to say the least, Russell had a pretty good amateur background and if he wins it will validate Lomachenko's victory over him even more. I see this as a 50/50 fight.

Yeah, he's not getting anywhere near mid range without getting blasted first. I think he's going to get put away by Jhonny's infamous left hook off the jab.
