Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury: I'm Ready, I Want Wladimir Klitschko Next

I think it's funny people believe Fury would fight the same way against Klitschko as he would a Christian Hammer.
He switches from southpaw to orthodox because he can against these guys. he does it naturally, but he's clearly better in the orthodox stance where his jab is much better and the power from the right hand comes through. That would be the strategy against Wlad. in an out movement.
People say Wlad's never been outboxed. Well, firstly, it's been proven that you don't need to outbox Wlad to beat him. Secondly, Wlad's never fought a big guy with skills before (please no one mention TT). Wlad has never faced anyone like Fury in his career who can jab and move and throw combinations and who is bigger than him.
Now, does that mean Fury will win? No. because Wlad has better skills than him. He's a much more complete fighter - or at least more complete in what he does, which is to stay out of range and throw singe shots thereby not leaving himself open.
However, it's a very interesting fight seeing as Fury provides a whole new threat to Wlad and a whole new set of skills that he hasn't seen before.
I also like that someone mentioned Fury's workrate. I'd just like to clear things up and tell you that Fury has almost double the workrate Wlad has. He throws 70 punches a round for 12 rounds and gets better as the fight goes on, whereas Wlad has had stamina issues in the past.
Wlad has an average 45 punches per round.Comment

wlad will ko him. if fury tries to box it would only be matter of time before wlad smashes him with one. his best chance will be to make it a rough inside fight and try to ko wladComment

You make some valid points, but when has Tyson faced a guy with similar physical attributes to Wladimir?
He's been steered clear of all punchers in the division, and still be put on his arse; he hasn't fought anyone with comparable height and reach; and, IMO, he still lacks discipline.Comment

He could fight tall guys like Towers, Ustinov or Wach - but they'd just be punching bags for Fury, nothing to learn other than fighting a tall guy.
He's faced a few fighters who can crack, and was scheduled to fight Haye so it's not like he's unwilling.
Wlad was put down by non-punchers also in his career. It happens.Comment

Hmmm. Have long said he should fight someone like Wach or Ustinov. They're slow guys, and he would likely shut them out, but at least they give him some prep for Wladimir. That said, for all i know, he could be sparring with guys like this in the gym - I don't follow Tyson all that closely, simply because I have never rated him.Comment

If people were fighting Wlad, I'd actually recommend them getting Hughie in for sparring.Comment

Considering that your total contribution to the discussion has been a lame attempt to clarify somebody else's remarks, I don't think that I'm the troll here. Now, do you have anything halfways intelligent to say about the topic at hand, troll?Comment
