Basically just like all corporations, they reserve the right to change the rules as it suits them.

For example.

A fighter with a very small following and nearly no fan base wins a belt and doesn't fight his mandatory he gets stripped almost immediately.

A big name fighter with high revenue can get away without being stripped possibly indefinitely.
