Liverpool’s Tony Bellew isn’t the only British fighter with one eye on a post-boxing acting career; Nottingham’s Carl Froch, 33-2 (24), has told The Sun that he has secured a role in an upcoming British gangster film and likes the idea of switching professions once his in-ring career comes to an end.
Froch will have a small role in Once Upon A Time In London, Bellew is filming his part in Rocky spin off-Creed, but both men will juggle their film work with their boxing careers—although Froch has stated that he will only fight again if he can secure a bout that adds to his legacy.
“Secretly, I've had a few acting lessons,” said Froch. “I kept it to myself because I don't think for one minute I'm the next Robert De Niro. But I am not afraid of the camera and I have got a bit of confidence. You never know, do you? Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham have done very, very well. I think the role has got to be fitted. I'm not Brad Pitt looks-wise— I like to say what my missus says, that I'm ruggedly goodlooking. I'm a fighter, so I don't think there's any mystery that I'm going to have a bit of a hardman role.” [Click Here To Read More]
