I guess we can't blame him for not wanting to get annihilated. After the Pac beating and the Margarito I meltdown plus Trout and Floydie embarrassments, what did we expect. It's inevitable he'd be demolished vs GGG. Let the guy take a couple fairly easy swansong fights then fade off into the sunset.Comment

Cotto! So Then Sit B*tch & Not Unify With GGG... Ya P*ssy!
Beat a washed up, injury prone 40 yr old Sergio, then won't man up against the best Middleweight in the world in Gennady, nor will you man up against the best Jr. Middleweight in the world in Canelo. Go fight some welterweights then or some tomato can Jr. Welters or Middleweights, collect an easy payday, then tell everyone how you earned the right. Maybe Cotto can line up Rod Salka or Victor Ortiz! LOL!!!!Comment

They do that for pretty much every recent champion. First they let a fighter who just won get a voluntary defense, then after that they have to defend it vs mandatory. It happens for every fighter no matter if they have no good backing from a strong promoter or not. 9 out of 10 times the champion takes the mandatory defense. This mandatory defense will be magnified because Cotto was accused of ducking GGG like an hour after winning the title. There will be an outcry but Cotto is well within his rights to fight another MW before GGG.Comment
