Jesus. If you're not going to fight GGG, then vacate the title.

So you're scurredd. Fine. Just stop holding the belt hostage. Go on your merry way and keep hoping for a floyd rematch.

    ****.

GGG is the best at MW, but I think he is looking a big payday looking for guys from the 154 and not looking to the 168 where the big dogs can beat him without a problem.
You wanting GGG to move up to 168 so he would no fight for the MW lineal championship is whats wrong in boxing.
there are weight class for a reson , if he feels he is too small to defend HIS MW TITLE , he can vacate , what should not happen (which you are suggesting) is to make the MW title a proxy WW title ....

This is like RJJ beating Ruiz and then staying at HW and fighting light heavies for the title... At least RJJ did the right thing and vacated.

But guys, we have to let this lineal rubbish go... Cotto's supposed to be number one MW because he helped crippled Martinez on his way to the floor?

And I hope GGG moves up because I want to see him with someone half a chance. DeGale, Groves, Kessler (if he comes back), Abraham, Stieglitz, Froch, Chavez Jr. GGG will be busy while Ward has his tune-ups.

Everyone is just being bitter the Canelo fight didn't happen and blame Cotto for no reason. I mean really, what human with a brain would rush into the Canelo fight when there was a slim hope he could rematch the best p4p fighter in the world? Manny - Floyd looked like it was about to fall apart until they met at the Heat game. And Canelos the one who decided to rush into a fight knowing if the mega fight gets made he'd have to fall a back a week anyways.

Anyway you people are being to dramatic. He's just saying he's bigger then those Shiiity companies which he is. Cotto is not Danny Garcia, he's not going to fight a Salka and ignore the fans. Cotto has never backed down from a fight so why you guys doubting him now? If anything the mandatory will get pushed back for the Canelo fight and the winner fights GGG anyways. GGG can wait to see if Andy Lee beats Quillin because that would be a good unification to keep GGG busy anyways. And since GGG likes to stay busy once Fonfara beats up Chavez Jr, GGG can beat him up in the winter.

I'll be so disappointed in Cotto if he keeps the belt and defends it against a welterweight. Fight GGG and go for broke on him. If you get KO'd you'll still get more props then you will defending a middleweight title against a hand chosen welterweight. If he at least defends it against a true middleweight in top 10 I'll be happy. But after that there's no excuses fight GGG or Vacate and drop back to superwelter... wher he should be anyway.

I have a lot of respect for Cotto but a comment like this does him no favours. I can see why people say 'at this point in his career let him call shots'...but Cotto is one of the few fighters that usually says he wants the big names and is always available for them, so he does look a little wavy saying this in regards to GGG. But he cant really be accused of ducking just yet.
