"Yes, Pacquiao will beat Floyd with his performance against Algieri,” Roach told Filipino sportswriters after the postfight conference. “You know,Floyd about two years ago, I thought it’s about even. Now I think Manny will knock him out.”

Roach's reason: “Floyd can’t run like he used to. He can’t move, his legs are shot, he’s a washed up, old fighter. We’ll knock out Floyd.” (November 2014)

    ----------------------------

“In watching Floyd’s career, he’s definitely slowed down somewhat,” the trainer said. “Manny has also some, everyone ages. But I think Manny’s legs are fresher than Floyd’s. Against Algieri, Manny boxed really good, good rounds the whole time.”

“When Floyd sits down and rests, Manny will catch him. Floyd is a defensive master. But he takes rests. And the only place to do it is on the ropes. If Manny catches him on the ropes…Floyd can look at Manny, think he has pretty fast hands, punches pretty hard. But you don’t really feel it until you’re in there with him. He has devastating power, and he jumps in so suddenly. He still has the power and speed to get a KO.” (February 2015)

“The challenge [of Mayweather] was bigger five years ago,” Roach said. “I think Mayweather has slowed down a little bit. But he is still a great fighter. We’re going to need a great game plan to beat him.”

“Over the years, the game plan for Mayweather has changed a bit,” Roach said

"Mayweather will move as much as he can before he starts settling down. He can’t move quite as well as he used to. I think Manny’s power will overwhelm him. He has never been against someone with the speed of Pacquiao. Seeing it is one thing, dealing with it is another thing.”

"My biggest fear is that Mayweather doesn’t stand and fight. That he tries to run and tries to survive. He can try, but against Manny he can’t run all night.” (February 2015)

    -----------------------

Roach said his confidence in a Pacquiao victory is "100%. Everyone says [Mayweather's] changed his style to become more fan-friendly. He doesn't [care] about the fans. He just can't move no more."

"Manny has better legs, he'll be in better shape than Floyd, and he'll be more motivated," Roach said. (February 2015)

A stiff head snapping jab works too, but the problem with using it is that whenever you extend that jab out like that, you leave yourself open to give him the opportunity to slip inside it and reach you with a straight left counter.

Any ex pro boxer will tell you that your reflex's are the first thing to go while your power is the last thing to go as you get older. Floyd relies heavy on his reflexes and was hit with many shots by Maidana that he should not have gotten hit with. It'll be interesting to see how he deals with a much more awkward and faster puncher like Pacquiao.

Looks like he's messing around with buboy in most of the pics.

Bradley did this in the second fight with Pac and I thought he won the first round. Sadly, as soon as Bradley gets hit with a good shot he loses all of his composure and starts swinging widly, which played directly into Manny's fighting style since he loves when guys open up and trade with him.

I think Floyd will do exactly what you suggested and what Bradley had success with. Parrying Manny's jab with your lead hand and then shooting the counter right hand is what I expect May to do. And since May is far more disciplined than Bradley and better conditioned he will be more successful at implementing this game plan.

i think floyds trademark stiff jab to the stomach will be the key weapon. that punch does so many things at once. it creates space for him to move away, it disrupts the opponents rhythm forcing him to reset and is a great set up for a right hand.. mannys greatness is based on his rhythm, this shot will have him constantly resetting. and floyds footwork will frustrate him, when manny takes off he over extends his punches and gets so uncoordinated he at times trips on his own feet. when guys just step back when he takes off hes left punching air with his body square wide open, floyd is gonna pick him apart.

hey fencewalker that won't take a side and stick with it because you don't have the guts to say I LOST, Pac is gonna kick Jr so hard he will be using his azzzzzzz for a hat.

If JR KO's Pac then he's got it to do and I will be watching, and will come back here and take all the slime but not from you Fencewalker.

In this fight I don't have respect for fencewalkers.

Its either Pac or JR ALL THE WAY, so you may kiss where the sun never shines !

If Pac fights Jr like Canelo fought Jr then the fight is won already by JR and no need to go thru the Pain. I was pulling for Canelo but you don't beat Jr by trying to out box him from the outside, standing and taking punches like a punching bag.

In My Opinion, you must be fast, of foot and hand, Power in both hands , head movement and supreme confidence to put supreme pressure on Jr and land that straight left straight up the pike, its open the left of Pac is made for the shoulder Roll of JR, clear shot.

Pac's right hook is made for JR's head as he LIFTS IT ,,,PERFECT !

Pac must come in intense and the intensity MUST INCREASE NOT DECREASE !!

Pac makes sure his opponents are defeated before he allows compassion to set in. Pac will win the first 6, if he lets up like Hopkins believes the fight will be sick.

So bro PACMAN,,,,,,,its on you, its allright to have compassion AFTER,,,not DURING the fight. Go do yer business in the ring and take care of JR

                      KO Jr by 4

                      Win by UD

Make JR QUIT would be best, but Pac you can't let up like you did with Margo, you need to put whup knots all over Jr's head, close his eyes, and compassion will come when he quits, just like in the ODH fight you made ODH QUIT, do it to JR.

I have eaten humble pie before and will yet eat it again due to my nature, a good dose of humble pie will be good for JR and his fans.

To all the FANs that take a stand on who wins this fight I SALUTE !!!!!!
