I think they have the same type of power. I separate two types. One of them are the thudding heavy handed guys like Golovkin, Kovalev, Maidana, Matthysse, etc... the other ones are the explosive, "sharp" power guys who are more often counter punchers than brawlers/pressure fighters. I think about the likes of Thurman, Walters or Stevenson.
Difference between GGGs and Kovalevs power?

True that and this is exactly the reason why I don't really like the style of Golovkin and Kovalev. They are very good at what they are doing but I like these thing with a little salt (individuality/distinction) better. And I also more likely a sucker for speed than for power but there are a few exceptions though. If you freeze a video of GGG or Kovalev letting their punches go, you will see images that look like they came out of a boxing tutorial or text book.
"This what a left hook should like. This is a right cross ... " etc.
I think both learned how to deliver a range of punches with impecable technique and form during their years in the Russian amateur school. Combine correct punching technique with raw physical strength, and you are going to knock people out.
Beterbiev has the same ability, for the same reasons.Comment

Right on point !!...3 beasts from the east !..Artur Beterbiev is right on the heels of GGG and Kovalev. He is fighting in April and I hope 2 more fights after that in 2015.Artur needs to stay busy he is an ANIMAL !If you freeze a video of GGG or Kovalev letting their punches go, you will see images that look like they came out of a boxing tutorial or text book.

Eh, GGG is more creative with his punches than about anyone. Kovalev is unconventional at times as well. I think you don't like them simply because you don't like them.True that and this is exactly the reason why I don't really like the style of Golovkin and Kovalev. I know better why I don't like their style, believe it.
In their perosna is nothing really bothering or bad for me so that's not logical that I don't like them as persons.
And it also nothing has to do with race since I'm white as well (okay GGG is half Asian but still...)Comment

I loved the first knockdown in the Kov-Hops fight as it showed what Kovalev was all about.
With Hopkins in the corner and Kovalev pressing, Kovalev just pushes himself forward a little and Hopkins Immediately went in with his head down looking to land an overhand right ( He tried it a fair few times during the fight ), but as Hopkins is coming forward, Kovalev has already taken a step back and created distance and proceeds to land a punch straight onto the top of Hopkins' dome.Comment
