Comments Thread For: GYM Sues Lemieux, HBO, Golden Boy For $1.3 Million

MONTREAL -- This morning, Groupe Yvon Michel Inc. (GYM) filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of Quebec for damages against David Lemieux, Eye of The Tiger Management, Camille Estephan, Golden Boy Promotions and Home Box Office (HBO). GYM claims that it has suffered damages of $1,350,000.00 as a result of tortuous conduct and bad faith actions by the Defendants.

Lemieux had been under contract with GYM since 2007. Since the beginning of its promotion of Lemieux’s career, GYM has always acted in Lemieux’s best interest, and oversaw his development at every level, turning him into a top contender in the Middleweight Division, and a financially viable professional boxer and gate attraction. .

    Can we say frivolous.....

.....or poor losers. Should pay attention to those they allow to modify contracts.

Hey in a court of law a verbal is just as strong as written, lets see if GYM has sum type of proof, not sure why they would file if they didnt think theyd have a chance at collecting some monies from them

Arum's federal case against Chavez doesn't seem to be preventing Chavez from fighting Fonfara, and that's based on an actual contract.

Did anybody see this? Which GYM fighter are they referring to?

            From the rumorville on twitter.

It appears the former promoter is mad at his current manager. From what i gather the former promoter wanted Haymon involved with Lemieux's career. Instead, they went to Oscar and he swooped him up

Bieber maybe? Been seeing his name a lot lately, but I don't think he was Haymon

                  Savonitto and Ass.

If I was Yvon Michel I would insist that Savonitto handles this case for me, rather than the other guy.
