This fight makes more sense than Cotto-Golovkin/Rios to me. Cotto is not a middleweight and K9 has a belt at 154. Make it happen.

When cotto/martinez was announced there was a decent amount of hype on here for it....even though cotto was coming from 154......now everone is saying fight ggg as he is a MW.....so how come martinez got a pass.....also the amount of people saying if cotto still has the MW strap in september he should fight floyd so floyd will hold 3 lineal titles....but if cotto did lose to ggg before then you wouldn't want floyd to fight ggg.....just think about what you guys are actually saying there!!!

have both belts on the line cotto destroys k9 different league but cotto having 2 belts in 2 divisions is a plus because in September him and canelo can get it on and canelo will know again who is the A side k9 is a tune up since cotto been out for a long time

you are absolutely right, i posted the same earlier, k9 is cottos best choice if he doesnt fight GGG, the only thing is if he gets 2 titles he wont be fighting canelo , he will wait for floyd, no matter how long....

Good fight for Cotto's camp. Cotto is not a true middleweight so GGG is a bad idea. I don't want to see the fight personally but it's a good business move for Cotto. Easy win for a belt.

There are no good options for Cotto except for triple G and I doubt he will take that fight knowing that the can squeeze a fight in between

Bundrage looks like a decent option for Cotto at this point...

While I don't see K9 as having any real shot at victory he does currently possess a world title making him at the very least a respectable opponent...Also his style shouldnt pose the same obstacles as a Trout or Lara...A stop gap in between a potential mega fight this fall with either Manny, Mayweather, or GGG...

K9 could be just what Cotto needs at this juncture...Will be really intriguing to see who Miguel faces in June...
