  • According to the logic of some of the users on here, you're either GGG or Malignaggi in terms of power lol. No, Floyd is by no means a KO artist (neither is Pacquiao at 147), but he does have enough pop to get your respect.
Several of Floyd's opponents had success with the jab early in the fight but down the stretch they abandon the jab. Why? Because they're cautious of what will come back at them.
That being said, I see this fight going the distance.

    • Mayweather is the hardest puncher he has faced since being KTFO

      Bradley hurt him several times

there was a reason why Manny was matched with non-punchers at welterweight like Rios, Bradley and Algieri

If he is reckless and getting hit clean round after round, a knockdown or knockout can happen.

He been ko'ed 3 times, by head shots and body shots....Mayweather is gonna work him over on the inside, when he isn't bouncing or throwing shots

Manny isn't the featherweight many, he doesn't throw punches 3 minutes of every round or 70-100 punches a round anymore

people gotta snap back to reality, this isn't a dream fight anymore and neither guy throws as many punches or are as fast as they once were

Where does this notion come from

Paulie said he is but he's a fl0mo also

No he is not gonna walk PAC down

His strategy will be to potshot or counter then move

He doesn't have a hand speed advantage over PAC to be able to exchange with him and make him pay whilst making him miss

There are 2 types of counter punchers:

        1. Floyd- potshots you. Primarily focused on defence. May lay on ropes until you have shot your bother then come back with something (maidana I)

        2. Marquez- will risk tasting leather and will fire COMBINATIONS in retaliation .
I'm glad someone here isn't a complete moron. Floyd will be in full defensive mode maybe more cautious than he was in Maidana 2 expect a snooze fight he won't be putting any power in his shots more like pot shots.

If you actually watched Mayweather fight southpaws you'd know he walked them down. and fought them in the center of the ring

He walked down Corely, Mitchell, Judah

Guerrero was so slow he could see everything coming from the outside so he didn't

Ortiz only had a lil success when Mayweather's back was against the ropes, when he came forward and stayed in the center of the ring Ortiz looked puzzled

If you actually watched him fight, he never approaches a fighter the same way the entire fight....he'll change his stance, offensively and defensively....fight on the back foot and come forward while maintaining the right distance and angles

boxing more than about power and speed.....If you don't land enough, power is nullified.....Manny is concerned with landing hard shots....Mayweather isn't....accuracy beats flailing at air

Manny doesn't have his legs anymore. Thats what made him dangerous. He came from all angle, and could everywhere at once.

Now he is just a shorter guy with fast hands and a bit of power.

His legs are what made him dangerous. Once his legs went, the KO's stopped, because he stopped being able to hit people from places they weren't expecting to be hit.

Thats the only reason Floyd agreed to fight him now, as its been shown pretty conclusively that Pacquiao is a shell of what he use to be.
I do agree that Manny's legs are what made him great and he was able to hop around constantly for 12 rounds and throw 80 to 100 punches a round if he wanted to. Now he just uses head faints to get in and once and a while he shows glimpses of his old leg skill. His head faints and hand speed do poise a threat to Floyd. Floyd isn't what he use to be either the fight is 50/50 imo

I normally don't post because there are too many ignorant ppl on this site; but I just had to respond to this dumb azz poster for calling Maidana's punches pillows.

Dude just go to bed. I guarantee you that if Maidana was to hit Pacquio with the shot he hit Mayweather with; Pacquiao would have been knocked out!!!

That punch was as hard as the one that knocked Manny out!!

Floyd won't walk Manny down it's more of a risk, Manny has better footwork, handspeed, and power than the fighters you listed. Floyd's best strategy would be fight like he did against Maidana 2, use his long reach to pot shot and move laterally and counter Manny when he comes in.
