... I think that Cotto should also fight Anthony Dirrell ( the WBC SM belt holder) and grab that belt as well... And then also fight the lineal LHW champ (namely the pimp) and grab that belt as well...
... Then, finally, fight FMJr. for $100mln or so and make him the real TBE. Right?

This writer sounds like a Cotto fan rather than a fight fan, trying to talk dat bizness nonsense.

I don't care if Cotto and Golovkin were named Bob Smith and Joe Black, their rankings dictate they fight.
Fitzsimmons is the most annoying writer on here, he's biased and not objective at all.

I hope his car gets repossessed. Look at his avi, he wants to rub money's chest. They really need to fire him in the words of his master he don't know **** about boxing.

If I was Cotto id fight Golovkin out of pride. The guy is known to fans as a warrior who has never ducked a challenge, and he's financially secure, plus the golovkin fight will still pay, honestly if i was him id just fight the guy in june on PR day.

It's not about Cotto. It's about the fact that Golovkin still hasn't gotten his shot at the real MW championship when he's clearly the best MW in the world.

              True, it's not about Cotto.

I'm ok with it if he vacates the title rather than fight GGG. I actually don't even want to see that fight, I fear Cotto would get seriously hurt.

But he should vacate, if he fights Rios or Bradley , or any other ww , with the lineal MW title on the line, then it's a joke.

Some truth here: if Cotto accepts the fight vs GGG, heīd have already regained the respect of fight fans. Even if he gets KTFOd in the 1st heīll be seen as a warrior again. The smart thing for him would be dropping the belt and moving back to 154 though.

Agreed to some degree, but the way I see it itīs the fighter that defines a belt, not the other way around. Lineal or not, Cotto is not the true MW king. Just like Stevenson is not the LHW king and everybody knows Hernandez is not the best at CW, hasnīt been for some time.

I dont see Nothing, but power.

Golovkin ain't nothing special. All the gushing and hype by Journalist, the MEDIA, and some fans is making want to puke....

HE HASNT FOUGHT ANYBODY!!!!!!!.........WHO?!!! HAS?!!! HE?!! BEATEN?!!

I'm waiting ?.....how bout just naming 1 guy he fought that was BETTER THAN DECENT?

*birds chirping* *crickets making noise* ........exactly, then why all the Hype?,

DELUSIONS OF GRANDUER. People want this guy to be great, want him to be the "real deal", and even if he hasn't PROVEN that he his, we're gonna hype, say he's a great fighter blah blah blah...........smh.

The Modern day boxing fan is a "casual" "uneducated on the sweet science" type of person, meaning you are EASLEY AMUSED and even easier to fool, the saddest part is some of you "causal boxing" fans know(ledge) your opinions and statements bare no resemblance to the Facts and Truth.

Some of you are closet "Racist" who love to root for the "Great White Hope" even if the guy HASNT PROVEN ANYTHING!!!! smh. So let me clarify this before an __hole tries to MISREPRESENT what I've said...........

Its ok and perfectly fine to want to see your own "Ethnic group" or "Race" be successful, np at all with that. For instance...I want to see my "Black American" counterparts be successful in boxing........BUT!!! lol, If the dude hasn't fought anyone "really good" or "great" and was dominant or won legitally, then I'm not gonna "Hype" him up, and I'm going to call out ANY MEDIA peeps that try and Hype... Wil *cough* der anyone?

You KNOW(ledge) in your heart who you are, hyping this bum up like he's some great fighter, just the next tool with power being hyped up by the Magicians and Illusionist in the Boxing Industry, fans included.

When he steps up...lol, and by the way he should, he's a big 160 and should be fighting at 168, instead of squeezing down to 160.

P.S.- he SHOULD be able to cut the ring off real well against the BUMS he's been fed HIS ENTIRE CAREER. big deal, smh.:ANYWORD:

Unless Cotto is waiting for an "A-level draw" fighter, there's no good excuse to not fight GGG.
