I am a fan of Golovkin and I have to say that his performance with Murray wasn't the best. He didn't look like anything special, like he has in other fights where he is more poised and calculated. He just kept pressuring, throwing bombs and not really caring for return fire. It was the type of performance that makes him seem vulnerable, even bordering on one dimensional. I am thinking he kind of did this purposely to draw in top names to fight him. I mean, it kind of worked as Junior now wants a piece of him, putting a million dollar bet on top of it. If the fight goes down with Junior, I am expecting the poised, cold and calculated GGG again.

I kind of agree. It would have been a great fight to see if they were both active in the same era.

I enjoy watching this guy fight, why not just enjoy and figure out where he belongs when he retires!
Right now he's the best thing going for NOW!

Best Middleweight ever? Seriously? All the greats are successful when under pressure and hurt. He hasn't gotten to that yet and may not because the boys that could fight at 160 who are at 154 don't seem to want him. The guys at 168 don't want him either. As the Middleweight Champ he needs to stay right where he is and de,mand all the belts before being forced to move out of his natural weight class just to earn a payday. Damn shame that we can't see the young fellow be the best he can be for Now!

Watching him now in his past 5 fights I like what I see. I see him use good head movement at times and finish with good rotations but when he has no respect for opponents power he slacks off. That is not smart to do, you need repititions done correctly in boxing plus the chance of cuts always lingers.
I also see him aiming for the temple and top of the cranium, I don't like that because the chance of hand damage increases greatly on those targets.

He's good and with the power I"ll say maybe very good but great? Not yet!

          Ray

When Golovkin moves up to 168 and stomps Andre Ward, you'll say the same thing about the 168 division

Golovkin is undoubtedly the best middleweight on the planet as of now but he hasn't even accomplished a tenth of what the great fighters in the past have done, so how can it be that he is the best of the lot?

                  Ha ha ha ha,

                  NO.

                  Not even close.

LOTS of 160lb'ers from the past beat the brakes off of the Triple Duck...

LOL! Calm your man crush down. That's all it is buddy. A man crush.

If this were the 90s GGG would have to face Middleweights like Mike Mccallum, James Toney, Roy Jones, Reggie Johnson, Winky Wright, Glen Johnson, Simon Brown, etc..

Honestly, GGG hasn't fought a boxer on the level of even Fernando Vargas as of yet.

Slow down with the GGG facials.

He could have fought Ward already. They don't want any parts of Andre Ward.
