This is probably whats going to happen. Cotto may not even fight until September... It's only about 3 months off from June to Sept. If he's planning on fighting twice he better fight a WW so he stays healthy.

Cotto/GGG is never going to happen by the way, ever. I would say Cotto would be Margarito'd but I really don't think he'd last more than 3-4 rounds, he's way too small. Even though they are in the same division it's a complete mismatch.

Let's get it trending. No Tim Bradley.
Yes! It needs to happen. Only interesting fight out there. Bradley is a welterweight.

according to the WBC there is no optional for Cotto, they tweeted that the other day, hougigo posted, WBC made an exception for Canelo but since no Canelo they wont sanction a fight other than GGG or Canelo... its going to look bad if cotto gets striped for ducking...

GGG is the flavor of the month until Cotto puts on a clinic and ends the hype train - you casuals are afraid to let go of this month's KO monster

They won't strip him if Mayweather wins, that would definitely be his last fight on Showtime. WBC isn't about to miss out on another Floyd Mayweather payday. If that can't be made then they'll leave it for Cotto/Canelo, please. The WBC wants to make boxing better, I truly believe that. But if it benefits their pockets for a huge sanctioning fee, they'll do it.

I say if this does happen, coupled with the Pac-May, this will be the best year for boxing in a long time.
                      Money talks, so why not.

Have K2 call Gaby Penagaricano, Cotto's adviser, and offer him a 20/80 split on the US-PR/Canada/Mexico rights fees and the gate (K2 keeps the rights to the fight in Europe), to gauge any interest level.

WBC rules ensure that mandatory defense have their champion taking a 75/25 split against the opponent (Stevenson-Kovalev/Pascal being a WBC mandated unification fight, was a unique situation with unique terms), so the pot has to be sweetened a bit.

doubt that such a call never gets made.
