A lot of people say yes, but I also can't imagine DLH fighting someone so respected in the Mexican community at a point in JCC's career when he was considered "past his prime" (not my words).

Or was this just another case of people realizing he was past his prime after the fight or was it well known before the fight that JCC's best days were behind him?
I think it's both here, JCC was past his Prime and Oscar exposed the weakness in the competition JCC had available and was beating at that time. Now I am not intending to say JCC hadn't faught great fighters, as this guy faught everybody and his uncle, and his uncle's uncle, and the mofo may be around long enough to fight the nephews nephew. But what I am interested in is will Oscar stick around long enough to fight JCC jr.? Prolly not as he does have Golden Boy Pro. to run, but that could make for a very interesting match-up down the road, as the kid is tall, and has tonnes of room to grow into if he ever decided to avenge his fathers loss to the Golden Boy, who also may be a lil' tarnished himself by the time the kid is ready for that kinda fight..... that could be very interesting.

JCC got exposed in the Hoya fight. And with good reason. A guy who moves like DLH will whip any version of JCC.

Face the facts kid. Your precious JCC should have stayed fighting cabbie guys and hotdog sellers.

JCC was definitely getting worn down from all his fights at that point in his career.

JCC was way past his prime. I saw a video of him sparring DLH when DLH was in the beginning of his career. They sparred and JCC dropped DLH with a body shot. Ill see if I can find the video.

Chavez was more of a pressure fighter who liked his opponents to stand in front of him and DLH was a tall fighter with good power and good footwork, the worst matchup possible for Chavez. While Chavez could have easily been called past it, I don't really think it would have made a difference.

I can't believe that people are downgrading Chavez. He is an All-Time great. To judge him on the DLH fights is ludicrous. JCC's prime was 130 and 135 to an extent. He was dominating and punished his opponents. Believe me, I hate the guy, but my eyes don't lie.

question to the ones bad mouthing Chavez. Did you ever see him fight before the Taylor bout?
