If you simply disregard his upcoming opposition based on Canelo "missing out" on the Cotto fight, I honestly don't know what to tell you.

Canelo may have missed out but he isn't the only legitimate name Cotto could defend his belt against. Especially with the plethora of Middleweight fighters and quite a few SWW challengers whom would love to take a crack at the man of the hour. Seriously... Whomever Cotto fights next should be an extremely relevant subject to any fan of the MW division. How ridiculous would it be if he ended up defending his strap against the likes of Rios or Bradley? Would it still be "irrelevant" since you know, Canelo missed out?

It seems to me you're trying to gently shift the tables against Alvarez and his fans by pinning Cotto's potential shortcomings(if he decides to make a mockery of his title in his first defense) on a missed deal. Goodluck with that
Where did I say who Cotto fights is irrelevant to the sport? Who he fights is irrelevant to him "ducking" Canelo and nothing more. You can't blame the guy who isn't fighting, while the other is fighting someone else. That's like saying I broke up with my GF because she was cheating on me, except I would be the one sleeping around. It's about the dumbest **** you can say but Canelo fans want you to believe it.

As far as who Cotto fights, you guys are hating and he doesn't have an opponent. Let's assume it's Bradley, if it's not on PPV or for the MW why exactly is that a bad fight? It really isn't, it's two Top 10 P4P fighters fighting at least, a much better matchup than Canelo being served a glass jaw bum.

Bradley has no right to fight for the MW, who said it was on the line? No one. Who he fights for the MW title is relevant, but he doesn't have to defend it yet and he wouldn't be stripped if he didn't. So instead of complaining about a situation that isn't figured out yet, let's complain one that is figured out. We're not getting Cotto/Canelo and that is 100% because Canelo is too scared to fight anywhere except a place where he has everything his way.

Yeah, regardless of what we say or comment amongst each other we would never shift our positions in regards to this particular situation... in other words, debating the topic is a senseless cause.

Truth of it all I don't really care about either fighter enough to actually defend or argue their stances anymore. Did I want the fight? Yes. Do I blame Canelo? No, I blame both of their dumbasses. One for being a dumbass and hardheaded enough to push through with his lousy plans and the other for being a (Rican...kidding) sensitive lame who dragged out negotiations.

However claiming that Bradley vs Cotto at anything above 147 is a good fight doesn't make sense to me, even if it isn't for the MW belt. Bradley may be a top 10 PFP fighter in the sport but he didn't reach that title at anything past Welter. If a fighter is as good as his last fight and Bradley would be debuting at 154(+) against the lineal MW champion... something doesn't sound right.

Kirkland is a glass chinned fighter now? Aside from Ishida when has he been KO'd? He fought some hard punchers and beat them down at their own game... perhaps he's not better than Bradley in a PFP setting, but he's definitely much more proven than Timmeh at 154(5).

Anyway, all this talk about Cotto's potential opponents is nonsense on our behalf. We truly have no genuine idea who he will choose so I will reserve my comments regarding the topic from here on out.

I appreciate the fact that you replied without flaming, that was unexpected lol. Keep it classy and goodluck to Cotto.

Ishida had a 28% career KO rate. He dropped Kirkland 3 times and stopped him. Kirkland has also been dropped by Angulo and Allen Conyers. He's a tough guy but his chin is average at best.

Ironically, all 5 times he's been down have been in Round 1. It seems he needs to get his feet under him before he can comfortably take punches.

Yesss! I don't understand how these cotto fans say canelo messed up, when he was was ine pressuring floyd to fight pacquaio or compete with him in ppvs. Now we get the fight we want for mayweather, Canelo fights a week later and cotto is stuck with his thumb up his a-s.

I will now give you the best "Canelo" impersonation I could muster, to display how idiotic his comments sound:

"I fight to defend my country's honor..."

You see, I find it quite comedic since Canelo seems to be reluctant to fight in his native country of Mexico. If he is so proud and willing to defend his country's honor, why doesn't he stage his upcoming fights there?
