Oscar always said that if Mayweather vs Pacquiao happened they would be willing to move the date.

They made the same claim when they were trying to negotiate with Cotto. They always said they would move the bout to June if May/Pac happened. Something that even Cotto's advisor acknowledged.

We're getting Canelo vs Kirkland because Cotto didn't want to fight Canelo. It's as simple as that.

What he had a problem with was waiting for ever only to possibly get screwed if Cotto decided not to sign the fight.

Canelo, Oscar and his entire team had always said if Mayweather/Pacquiao fought they'd be willing to move the date. But you must remember that there was NEVER any guarantee that the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight would happen!

Funny how your tune changed from Canelo didn't want to go to NYC to who gives a ***** about Cinco de Mayo and some mindless tirade about Canelo and DLH.

Cinco de Mayo matters because it's the date most fans expect to watch boxing on TV. The reason Mayweather is so set on fighting on those dates. Canelo wanted the Cotto fight on that date because it was a huge date for a huge fight. But again he had no problem, no problem whatsoever going to NYC and fighting Cotto there.
What he was not going to do was wait around for Diva Cotto to make up his mind. He wasn't going to wait around only for Cotto to once again decide he didn't want to fight him and then Canelo would be stuck with no opponent.

These guys are so in love with a boxer that no matter what you put, they will still pick Cotto. Cotto got ****ed out of a deal and they're mad that their boxer isn't getting diva paid. They're taking it out on Canelo. Silly if you ask me.

Canelo didn't want to fight in June because he wanted to fight May 2nd in Las Vegas. Canelo is now not fighting on May 2nd, not in Las Vegas or against Miguel Cotto. Cotto on the other hand could still use a dance partner for June, ESPECIALLY since May/Pac are on the date Canelo wanted, but he's nowhere to be found. How convenient.
