he has been very vocal in his views lately in favour of mayweather and has denigrated pacquaios name

By your reasoning for why Paulie wouldn't be involved, it will go ten times for these two guys you are fine with calling the fight. Lampley smear campaign against Haymon and Mayweather on his fight game show, as well as making a crap P4P list is a sure way for him to not get the job. He is extremely bias when calling fights unlike Paulie who doesn't let his personal viewpoints get in the way of what's happening currently in fights. Lampley is crap compared to Paulie. They should bring back Larry Merchant, have Bernstein, Malignaggi, and that black guy from Showtime.
