I agree lol, but can't help in my insistence on being objective.

Back in their primes though, Mayweather's potshot speed and reflexes were extraordinary. And Pacquiao's footspeed, stamina and punch combination speed was other worldly.

Plus he kept feinting over and over and over and over again making Manny impatient.
Great point but Marquez had 4 fights to figure that out and get used to Manny. Will Floyd's legs hold up and allow him to keep that distance and fight his game? That's critical.

Manny can easily get the distance and punch with timing if the opponent is not running or making awkward movements. Example is Pac vs Rios , Dela hoya, Cotto, hatton. He can punch freely. If the opponent is super good with distance, pacquiao's always getting outbalance, he's over committing. "God will deliver him to my hands" doe, "It's for the fans doe". He's always thinking the fans, to make a good fight. I just hope pacquiao can focus like in the Dela Hoya fight, That pacquiao is unbeatable.

i know pac shouldn't box floyd.

and floyd is the superior technical boxer.

BUT there will be times when pac does box and he will win his share of exchanges.

He couldn't control the centre of the ring and contrary to people thinking his legs were back they really weren't.

He hopped and danced around with footspeed for about 4 rounds then seemed to gas, was sluggish, slower, missing shots, reflexes very clearly faded, struggled to time Maidana. It's night and day from his prime. He might have even declined more than Pac (aside from Pac's chin, which is my biggest concern).

This is an excellent post BUT, you are concerned with Manny's chin?? Why? There is nothing wrong with Manny's chin, man. Memo is what was wrong with his chin in the 4th Roidquez fight. It wasn't the KO that made me think this, it was the very 1st knock down. Manny's chin is IRON. Floyd will not break him. He will not be getting hit like that, anyway. He's defensively responsible. Floyd will have a hard time hitting him with flush shots.

I don't think Floyd is "rapidly" deteriorating, but he has slowed down a bit and you could see it a bit more in the second Maidana fight. However, we also have to consider the awkwardness and ruggedness of Maidana contributing to some of that.

In this fight, I think Floyd will actually look better than he has since the Canelo fight. I think his regimen with Ariza is going to be big help for his mobility and stamina throughout the fight. Look at Maidana's performance (with Ariza) in the first Floyd fight. He hardly got tired. Second fight (without Ariza) he gassed EARLY. Ariza gets his guys supremely conditioned and with a guy with Floyd's talent and dedication, I think it's going to pay off big on fight night.

Both fighters are still good, but just as Floyd has lost a step, Pac has as well. He's not as explosive and damaging as he once was, so we have to judge both guys on their more recent fights. Not fights from their highlight reels 5 or so years ago.
