The difference is one fanbase will just move on and get ready for Canelo/Kirkland if their fighter loses while the other will probably disappear and/or change their names to GGG alts.
To most of us its just a sport. Hell I'm a Jacksonville Jaguars fan. My favorite teams losing is nothing to me.Comment

what does the full 147 limit matter??? pac has shown time again that he hurts guys much bigger than him. pac dropped mosley with one punch. something a much bigger canelo struggled to do, and something your hero didn't even come close to doing.
pac hurt and buckled the much bigger and stronger chin margarito. pac completely busted up cotto's face and dropped him twice.
floyd hasn't had a legit stoppage (not some sucker punch poop stoppage) since 2007. the last time floyd legitimately knocked someone down was against marquez back in 2009 and this was before heredia (and marquez gets knocked down easily anyways).
pac has scored about 10 legit knockdowns since 2009 and he completely batters and bruises the majority of the people he fights. and he'll batter and bruise and have your hero thinking about health ALL NIGHT guaranteed hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.Comment

That's the thing, I don't think any Floyd fan derives part of their self-worth from Floyd being a phenomenal boxer. Whereas with Pacquiao it is so clear that many of his supporter's own self-image is drawn from Pacquiao being a phenomenal fighter. There is an insane amount of nationalism and pride tied to Pacquiao that just isn't there with Floyd due to Americans having world-class athletes across a multitude of sports.Comment
