Here's what happens when a fighter isn't fighting scared a guess... This is just one counter but it should give you an idea.
Was he lunging? What was wrong with that sequence? He was coming in behind the double jab and he just got caught by a rangier fighter who has 5 inches on him after his jabs missed.

Pulling his left off of his chin way out of striking distance so Algeri knows he's gonna throw it. Pawing with his jab instead of actually trying to land. Not keeping his chin tucked" and finally not seeing the punch and trying to avoid it. That's pretty much the def of "walking into a shot" algeri just had to stick his arm out PAC's momentum did the rest of the work.

edit: also dropping his left way down to his waist to then throw it straight... Waste of time and poor technique but his speed usually makes up for it.

He wasn't trying to land the jab lol. That double jab was just to set up the left hand, but Algieri saw it coming because Pacquiao had to start the attack from so far away.

There was nothing wrong with that sequence, he just got caught. It happens. That was the cleanest punch algieri landed in the entire fight. That was it.

Algeri saw it coming because PAC ****ed his hand back half a mile away before he threw the punch. That's a no no even on an amateur level. Hes telling him what punch he's going to throw before he throws it... He's begging to be countered doing that.

but he does that every fight.. All floyd has to do is as soon as manny throws the right then just get his straight right off first

My point exactly. If everyone knows "hes not trying to land the double jab" then as soon as they see if coming they can just fire a straight right to nullify the left he's about to throw. If he threw the jabs with some meaning it'd be different.

I don't know what you're talking about. Here's the sequence at normal speed. It happened in less than a couple seconds.

Around 2:33 of the 5th round
