He's trying to avoid over training which is something you dont want to do as you get older. He's trying to stay sharp while keeping his body preserved. Manny did an interview with the Philippine press where he said he's going to take it easy in training to avoid over training which is something he used to do.Mayweather's comments regarding fighting smarter not harder. Then I heard him say training smarter not harder.
What I'm getting from this is that he has a hard time motivating himself to work hard in training. I guess with all the luxury around him it is difficult. That's why when you watch him hit the mitts and heavy bag. they look like piti pats shots. I guess that's what he meant when he said smarter.Comment

That's what Manny would want, Mayweather coming forward but I doubt we'll see that. I see Mayweather on his backfoot and Manny having to chase and catch. I think Manny will be in better condition and will sooner or later catch him.
I don't think Mayweather will be able to match Manny's footwork and punch output. I expect perpetual motion from Manny and there's just no way Mayweather could withstand it.Comment

Most people who have been to Mayweathers gym and watched him train for a day are in awe of how hard he works, he's always been praised for working like the devil and training like he's poor.Mayweather's comments regarding fighting smarter not harder. As for training smarter rather than harder, that's to prevent over training and peaking early, burning himself out, which is something most top S&C coaches can't stress the importance of enough.Comment
