If I sell 15k seats at $5 per seat that's $75,000. If I sell 200 seats at $1,500 that's $300k.
The inability to view the fight clearly would drive the costs of seats down dramatically in Texas Stadium. I mean, how much would you pay for a seat (factor in travel, lodging, parking, concessions) that requires you to watch the same HD video feed you would at home?

MGM can share the gate revenue with the fighters because they make money on how much customers spend at the Hotel and casinos. And that spending goes on all week long. With this event, MGM will make a literal killing on things thats got nothing to do with ticket sales. In fact, all of Vegas will. So yeah the fighters can have it.

The next big news we're all waiting for is who the sparring partners will be and who the ref will be.Last edited by HeGotPacProblem; 02-26-2015, 10:12 AM.

What I didn't make up was the fact that Floyd fights at MGM (and Manny fights) have had significantly larger gates than Manny's Clotty fight at Texas stadium and Canelo's fights in San Antonia, both of which had more than double the amount of fans.
Knowing the above is true, why do you think it worked out that way? Do you think there is any other reason than MGM having a higher average cost per seat?
Let's use your figures-If $20,000 fans brought $50 seats that's $1 mil. The MGM only has to sell 6,665 of the $150 seats to equal that.
DO you understand now?

It would be a shame if no tickets were offered directly to the general public, only thru resellers.
Some arenas, there "isn't a bad seat in the house". that wouldn't be the case in Texas Stadium. I would actually argue there will be more bad seats than good ones for a fight.
As to the cost-I gave a low end on the # of cheaper seats. It may have been 25k or more. Bad seats at the MGM would literally be the same as 7 or 8 of the Texas seats, which exceeds Texas Stadium being 4 or 5 times the size of the MGM arena.
I get your point about wanting to be there in person, but it would be hard to see the fight. MGM or MSG seems much better.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 02-26-2015, 10:24 AM.

His lead hand measure tactic is very effective, he just need to rely on it a bit more than his reflexes especially against a shorter fighter like Manny who has uncanny/unorthodox type of attacking rhythm.
Mosley had nothing to worried about getting through Floyd's stance in this gif. Floyd got ****y and tried to relied on his reflexes with his lead hand down by his waist and paid the price. Now just imagine if Floyd had kept his lead hand up in front of Mosley's face and measured the distance with it. Mosley wouldn't have been able to easily feinted downstairs with his the jab and rushed through with a straight right hand upstairs because Floyd's lead hand would've nullified his frontal vision from setting up that feint downstairs. He would've to tried to bypass Floyd's lead hand and his sudden forward aggression/movement would've instantly alerted Floyd of the oncoming right hand upstairs, and in which case, it'd be up to Floyd to be defensively responsible to react in time and step back out of range or stand there or get caught flush with the right hand upstairs.
I also don't want to see Floyd backing up on the ropes with his lead hand down by his waist.

Look how easily Maidana penetrated through Floyd's guard and crowded him on the ropes. Again lead hand down by his waist and instantly gave Maidana the leverage to easily walked through him.
