pacquiao didn't have the olympic amatuer background where he got to face the different styles at the top level

thus he was very much learning on the job and developing on the job

But he turned pro at 14 so he been on the damn job. Just like at 14 most americans are amatuers. Its the samething is except Manny was getting paid for his fights while amatuers get ribbons, trophies and medals for their fights.
