    The purpose of this thread went all but missed here by most responses.

    Tarver was a legit challenge and probably the best 175lber at the time Jones could have fought.

    As mentioned an on paper mismatch example is Josesito Lopes vs Victor Ortiz, he was supposed to smash him and fight Canelo next.

              a lot of cotto fights.

              ppl don't realize they tried to cherrypick for cotto.

              problem is cotto isn't as good as they thought and cotto struggled.

              but cotto a warrior doe.....


              pac-cotto was suppose to be some top rank legendary trilogy. nope cotto couldn't hang.

              marg was too one dimensional for cotto. nope cotto got his ass kicked.

              clottey was suppose to be an easy belt. struggled.

                      Let me add JuanMa vs Mtagwa, was really supposed to be a showcase for JuanMa but he struggled and gassed late in the fight even if he won.
