The Byrd brothers were trained by their dad Joe Byrd & yes he would get PISSED when they would go at it hard...Eventually he forbid them from sparring with another....However their mom Rose who was basically the chief second didn't seem to mind seeing her babies beat each other mercilessly....Whenever papa Byrd was away which was frequently because he was heavily involved with USA amateur boxing at the time, mama Rose would take over & allow them to get it on....

It makes you tough as nails, that's all heart you're seeing, both guys fueled by pride, which is why you get such great fights. Both guys are beating each other but respect each other, tough love.

Some of the best sparring you can get, because both guys will go at 100%.

My twin brothers had some of their most epic battles between one another during wrestling. One was a technical wrestler the other just a stronger guy . They would go to hell and back wouldnt even speak to each other for hours after. And would do it again the next day till my dad forbid them from practicing together.

Oh yes sometimes things can get REALLY ugly in the gym...

I've seen guys stopped & ko'ed during sparring....Not a common occurrence but it does happen...

If you really wanna see it go down put two brothers in the ring...Best sparring sessions I've ever seen, Byrd vs Byrd & Dirrell vs Dirrell...knock down drag out epics...wish I coulda recorded some of em....

You'd be surprised how many pro boxers and even champions get Ko'd in sparring. Nevertheless sparring is for learning not wars. Wars can be a bad thing cause Abregu looked awful vs Sadam Ali but he was supposedly havijg sparring wars with Matthysse leading up to that fight.
