Yeah, these guys are both in their 50s. I love both of them but who wants to see old men circling each other for 12 rounds? If this actually happened and was hyped it would do more to damage the credibility of hwt boxing than save it.

And, some say it's the fight that will save boxing. But what will it really take to get George Foreman (search) in the ring with Larry Holmes? We'll ask special guest Larry Holmes tonight on tonight's edition of "Your World with Neil Cavuto."

Larry said a Casino is *****g up money for them to fight, and that family of Foreman called to say he wants to fight, he was just on Fox News.

I think for everyone when I say: No ****ing thank you.

I don't know what's worse the fact that this fight could actually take place, or the fact that I'd actually give either one a decent shot at beating alot of the so-called "contenders" in the present heavyweight class, **** I'd pick Larry Holmes to probably beat Ruiz by 2 or 3 points! Sad indeed!!!!!!!!

This wouldn't be a rematch because they never have fought each other which is a travesty. If they do fight now it's too late for anyone to really be interested.

There was never a period where they were both active and considered top contenders. Holmes took the title in 1978, which is right around when Foreman first retired, and Holmes was pretty much done after his fight with Holyfield, which was just around the time Foreman was coming back. The window of opportunity for them to fight was narrow and each of them had bigger potential fights.

Had they fought around, say, 1979-1982, assuming George still would have been close to prime then, I'd say Holmes more or less does to him what Ali did. He had the jab and the great straight right just like Ali, and a good chin. He would have stayed away and put him to bed in the late rounds after George tired out. George might catch him mid fight, but if he could take that Shavers right and keep coming, I can't imagine George being able to keep him down.

in their primes it would have been a hell of a fight. not even the current batch of heavys would lose to these guys that are far past their prime. foreman did win he has 45 but ten years have past.and holmes doesnt posess the power that allowed foreman to win in his return.

its not a very good idea...both these guyz went out gracefully, you live once and you die once..once you are gone there is no coming back..so neither of these should set foot in the ring with gloves on..
