    • as well as WBC/WBA 147

    • and WBC 154 champ.

As for TBRB, I don't follow them, they are full of ****. They're basically the same dudes who have Roman Gonzalez as #3 P4P on this site and act like elitist. I don't agree with Walters being over Johnny Gonzalez either. They also have Estrada as #9 P4P. Their list makes me vomit. Bradley over Wlad, wtf...
No you were right, I misread your post, my bad.

I like TBRB though. Gonzalez is high but everyone has him in the top 10 (this site has him #2). I'd put him at #5. The problem with the Ring, besides their championship policy, is that their P4P rankings are agenda-driven. They have Canelo at #9. They had Broner at #6 and Guerrero at #10 at one point. It's hard to take them seriously with De La Hoya owning the magazine. I think Michael Rosenthal's reign as editor-in-chief has been very underwhelming.

Ward is going to have to learn that boxers (unlike wine) do not appreciate in value just by sitting in a dusty corner for years.

Andre seems a very smart guy in some ways, but he also seems like the sort to have a complete and total mental block on this type of issue.

He hasn't been sitting for "years". He has 14 months without a fight. He's inactive but let's not exaggerate for how long he's been inactive.

Now if you have a problem with him not defending it against a top 10 154 guy, I would understand and won't argue that. But I will say it's a fact that all of his 147 and 154 titles were on the line vs Maidana in their September rematch. He paid his dues(sanctioning fees) to keep his 154 titles and he defend both 147/154 Ring titles. If Maidana had beaten him, he'd have become 147/154 Ring champion, as well as WBC/WBA 147 and WBC 154 champ.
Floyd should be stripped of his WBA title, it makes Lara look like a paper champ although he has paid his dues at 154. He's not planning to have a fight at 154 (against a jr. middleweight contender) anytime soon either. We all know why the WBC & WBA allowed him to defend his 154 pound titles against Maidana, but I hope it remains an exception. That would be comical if he was once again allowed to defend his welterweight and jr. middleweight titles at the same time against Pacquiao or Khan or whoever he faces next. Sanctioning bodies...

Ring Magazine is considered the defacto arbiter when it comes to who is considered P4P.

Fair enough, but you gotta admit that last time out was pretty forgettable, and it has been years since he's done anything of note.

The same publication that is owned by a boxing promoter?

The good old days of Ring Magazine are long gone.

Right. And one fight in 2013. And one fight in 2012.

Not that it changes much, but as it is February 19th 2015, and Ward last fought on 11-16-2013, he hasn't fought in 15 months.
