The Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB) is much better than the RING as they only crown lineal champions when #1 fights #2 or if the champion is defeated in the ring. Plus, they don't strip lineal champions because of injuries or promotional disputes. Andre Ward remains the Lineal, TBRB, and WBA SMW champion.

The Lineal championship can't just be held captive by an inactive fighter. If Ward was the Lineal champion then he should have been stripped of his imaginary title.

Ward has been dropped from the Pound-for-Pound rankings. Undefeated WBA middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin, who is rated No. 1 at 160 pounds, will enter at No. 10.

It had to be done, he has not fought in a long time and can't retain his status as the best at 168 hostage forever.

I don't take them seriously, they ranked Bute over Ward as the #1 SMW over Ward, despite Bute's best win just being Andrade and Ward's being Kessler lmao.

It's obvious they have an agenda they're trying to push, they don't like Ward.

I am a Ward supporter but he has 14 months without fighting. No fight on the horizon either. Time to let it go, sorry. I want to see him fight again. Maybe if he gets stripped, he'll come back with a vengeance to get all the belts back. Let her go and have other active fighters fight for her IMO.

I feel the same way, would love to see Ward back in the ring but its partially his own fault he has been out so long.

I am very happy to see this. I like Ward as a boxer and as a person, but he is not defending his title and whatever the reason, he should not be allowed to block anyone else attempting to be the best at super middleweight. I know boxers can have promotional problems and that's too bad. But he can't stay champion if he does not defend. The train has to keep moving. Try not showing up for work for a few days or a week at most jobs and you're out. This was a good move.

Mayweather's 154-lb title should be next.
