Comments Thread For: Hearn: Marquez is Frontrunner For Brook in The Summer

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Juan Manuel Marquez is the ‘frontrunner’ to face Kell Brook this summer if he successfully defends his world title next month.

The 28-year-old Sheffield fighter is currently preparing for the first defence of his IBF welterweight belt against Jo Jo Dan on March 28, live on Sky Sports.

But Hearn is hopeful that victory will pave the way for a big-name bout this year and has already held talks with Marquez’s promoter Bob Arum about a possible clash in Brook’s hometown.

Dig deep into your pockets is an understatement.

Marquez didn't want to go to China to fight Pacquiao, but he'll go to England to fight Brook....for much much less?

Brook will soundly beat Marquez, Marquez will still cry robbery.

Marquez still beat Pacquiao 4 times though. Got robbed 3 times.

Marquez is a bit of a ******. He fought Timothy Bradley for far less when he could have fought Pacquiao. He went to Idonesia to fight Chris John for peanuts when he could have fought Pacquiao.

It's always good to hear when promoters can work with TR, GBP, Haymon. It's good for the fighters.

He did exactly what we all ask fighters to do, fight for legacy and not the money

Well the last fight with pac was conclusive, they both said before that if someone gets KO'd then it would be the last fight.....
No point in going over old ground again
