It would be a good fight if they could take away each other's title. Non-title fights between champions is Saturday Morning wrestling nonsense.
Seriously how excited can you get when a unification match is turned into an exhibition match that isn't much more then some kind of infomercial?

Though the OP makes me last the premise is clear and true. If you don't want this to succeed you AREN'T A FAN OF BOXING. Watch ballet or cricket (where's Sterling when you need him) because boxing is thesport for you.

so.... f^ck legacy..... f^ck the belts.... legacies and belts dont make fighters

Every dead boxer is rolling over in their grave right now with the dumb sh^t you have been posting.

"if I see the fights I want I dont care"

Pathetic man just really pathetic. We COULD HAVE gotten LSC-Rigo... haymon stopped it.... you say "its his vision doe" thats pure bullsh^t and you know it. Yea LSC can fight mares gonzalez blah blah blah on future fights... FUTURE is the keyword. Wouldn't you want LSC to beat rigo for all his belts and make those future fights greater and more lucrative?

You see an infomercial and i see 2 good fighters getting in the ring.

Non-title fight between champions, yes, but none the less there are still 2 champions getting in the ring.

You said 3-5, and possibly 10 million would tune in. Now you want to bet on 3 mill. It might draw 3, but very doubtful on 5, and hell no on 10 mill!

What you said doesn't make sense. you are judging the quality of the fight before it happens, based on the fact both are not defending their titles. Was Ward/ Gatti 1 for a title? If both guys didn't defend their titles, would that have made it any worse.

Yes, no belts on the line makes the fight less significant. But if you get a FOTY candidate fight, does the belts not being on the line make a difference?

Youve got a very narrow way of looking at things.

So what happens if it's FOTY? Do they do it for real the next time?

I haven't seen one person say that they hope this tanks.... What I have been seeing is the complaints of the fights that are given... Stevenson vs a super middle... two super lightweight champs in an exhibition bout... other than that... all the other fights are good...
