Comments Thread For: David Price Aims To Make Statement To Sky Audience

David Price still hopes to settle his rivalry with Tyson Fury, but must firstly regain the attention of British fight fans with a convincing win this weekend.

The Liverpudlian has headed to Europe for his last three fights, steadily rebuilding his career with Sauerland Promotion after two damaging defeats by Tony Thompson.

He returns to action on the undercard of Paul Smith's world title challenge against Arthur Abraham this Saturday night, live on Sky Sports, and is determined to make big impression against Brazilian Irineu Costa in Berlin.

Irineu Costa (16-2-0) was knocked out by Joseph Parker in December and lost to Christian Hammer - Tyson Fury's next opponent - before that. It just shows how far Price has fallen...

I wonder how long it will be before Sauerland give up on this guy and just feed him to a genuine HW contender. Guess they're hoping for the Fury fight...

Price is a good boxer, until he gets punched back. Stamina and chin issues at HW!? No chance.

Price is never going to contend for anything higher than a European title IMO.

Against a top opponent Price will end as his stablemate Pulev in his last fight against Klitschko.

Price's obvious vulnerability notwithstanding, the huge scouser against the huge ***** would still have appeal because Price sure can whack with his right hand and although Fury is a far more competent boxer than his own haters would ever acknowledge, Tyson's chin isn't much of a shock absorber either. There's no chance of Fury vs Price any time soon but it could yet happen in the future so long as David doesn't get wiped out again in the interim. Fury, on the other hand, could fail against Klitschko or Wilder and the match with Price would still be a goer, and a crowd puller, certainly in the North West.

Price is still rebuilding after the losses to Thompson, remember.

"Kelly" Maloney already made the mistake of stepping him up too soon, Sauerland don't want to make that same mistake again.
