GGG is far, far, far and away the best 160lber in the world. Pretty weak era but when the best you can do is fantasy matchups against fighters in higher divisions or middleweights from years past then you're definitely the real deal.

What win made him the real deal. a lot of people are hung up on here based on your best win and Golovkin's best wins aren't that impressive in the grand scheme of boxing.

He thrashes guys in one of the three worst division in the sport, so in comparison to other middleweights he is certainly the real deal he is better than any 160 pounder out there. I don't see many guys moving up and beating him,I have been an Andrade guy and I do think the length would be problematic for Golovkin but he would have to be very sharp to really have a shot and not fighting does not make a fighter sharper.

I am pretty sure I said that was what he would attempt to do, and I am sure he would get in because dude was a tough guy who has never been hurt once in his career.

Pushing a guy back doesn't mean winning, it would just be an element of the fight. It could make Golovkin look better than he actually is on the back foot~

i remember distinclty having to explain to you that the hardest punching MW on the planet with one of the best chins and jabs in the sport isn't getting backed up by that guy, but you weren't having it.

Yea and you were being a total jackass in that thread so, I was using the most obnoxious way of saying that fight might be more competitive than you think. Also how does Golovkin have a proven good chin? I don't even think I would bring up something like that dude hurting Golovkin, that statement was totally about how that dude would try and fight Golovkin as that guy has one way. Being tough and stout he would likely push Golovkin back and since Golovkin is not near as good on the back foot there would be some issues, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't have caught a worse beating from Golovkin than he got from Quillin that night.


That conversation did take place, and it was 18 months ago in a nothing fight so yea so I am kind of surprised it came up, but I remember it also and can defend that point.
